Mines of Dalarnia Shares Details on Depth 4
Gilded Mines will have extensive cave networks, tougher challenges and new resources.
Depth 4: Gilded Mines
Mines of Dalarnia, has shed more light on the major update coming soon. Part of the update is new challenging Depths, one of which is Depth 4 - the Gilded Mine. The Gilded Mine is the major source of Gold Resource in the Dalarnia ecosystem. It is covered with liquid gold waterfalls, and players must have at least Power Level 12 to enter the mine, and the depth comprises Rock, Crypt or Jungle variants.
Gilded Mines will have significant changes in gameplay from the previous Depths. It will have a different map generation algorithm to create new levels; and host strange, unpredictable cave networks with different areas and challenges. In addition, the mines are tougher than the existing ones, and there are Healing Helper-bots to help Miners survive. These bits will restore Miner's health, and they may have to fight monsters to claim them.
Monsters and Resources in Gilded Mines
There are two new monster types. The first set is called Stalks. They are 'turret-like, stationary, burr-shooting plants' that shoot on Dalarnian Miners tirelessly. The second set is Burrowers, and they are digging creatures and come from underground when Miners are not expecting. Then they go back under to chase their prey through the mine.
The Gilded Depths will reward successful diggers with Gold Resource for successful digs. These Gold can be used to create Golden Equipment, starting at PL12 and developing to PL15. Gold will also serve as supporting material for high-tier craftables, not unlike Copper. Landowners can use a Gold-Plated Injector to add new depth to their plot of land. Injectors can be crafted from resources, but their number will be limited at the 1.1 launches this October.
