The Monsterra team has announced that the Battle Front game mode for their play-to-earn 2D title is scheduled to release on September 22.
This represents the free-to-play game’s first PvP mode and comes with seasonal rewards. With this new game mode, players will be able to attack each other’s lands during a season using unoccupied Mongen characters. The enemy lands the player can choose to attack is given at random, with the list being refreshable 3 times a day. Refreshing and attacking a player’s land consumes energy. Aside from attacking, players should also set up defenses in order to ensure their land is safe from any attacks. This can be done with 4 different kinds of defensive land plots: Watch Tower, Bombard, Camp and Trap. In the first two, at least 2 Mongen have to be added, while Camp requires up to 2 Mongens. When attacking an enemy land, players will be able to steal food from the land being raided, with the amount that can be stolen depending on the defender’s league rank, as well as the number of food the enemy land has.
The first season and likely the ones after it will be 28 days long and split into 4 main majors, with each one lasting 7 days and rewards for each being sent “every 7 days after the major ends.” This means that during a week, players will climb through the leaderboard consisting of multiple leagues they can progress through in order to be eligible for better rewards. Rewards come in the form of chests, of which there are various types, and thus different kinds of rewards they could potentially drop when opened, such as $MAG. The game mode’s first season will kick off on the same day it releases.
