Which sport/sporting legend will appear in Myria's new Web3 game?

Several hours ago, Myria Studios teased an upcoming Web3 game collab with a seemingly high-profile sports athlete. Although the team did not exactly reveal which sport or who the sports star is, they did drop a few clues on Twitter as below.

First off, the sport is played in 106 countries. And it is the 2nd most popular sport in the world. Based on these obvious hints, many claimed that it has to be cricket then. However, several other top sports like basketball and soccer made it to the list too. What do you think? Is Myria's next Web3 game going to feature cricket or other sports?

But even if we have settled on which sport it is, there's one more mystery being left unsolved. Who's the sporting legend then? So far, only Twitter user @privatehoudini took a guess, saying that cricket legend Brian Lara might be the sports star to team up with Myria. Again, without any official announcement or insights, all we can do is to keep speculating.

What is Myria?

To those who don't know, Myria is a blockchain gaming ecosystem powered up by an Ethereum L2 called the Myria blockchain. The team behind this project is Myria Studios, which spent the past 1 year building the entire Myria ecosystem before finally launching it in February this year. Similar to Gala Games, the Myria network will be supported by player-run nodes. In return, node operators will earn $MYRIA tokens and NFT rewards.

Since its launch, Myria has developed a few blockchain games on its platform, with some of them being created by 3rd party studios. To date, the platform has not featured any sports-based NFT games yet. So, having one in the future will certainly help Myria onboard more users, especially loyal sports fans, to its ecosystem.
