Nekoverse Alpha Testnet Enables Play-to-Earn Gaming with Cryptocurrency Rewards
Nekoverse's testnet alpha has been open for two weeks, but you can still join and earn rewards before the mainnet launch! Cat-themed, turn-based strategy game offers multiple ways to play and earn!
Nekoverse launched its latest playtest on February 1st, 2023, which is the final test net release before it moves to the mainnet. The test version is available for download on both Android and iOS platforms, but access is limited to batches of 250 players at a time. The initial batches of players have already received access, but it's unclear about the status of subsequent batches as none of the Discord links is currently functional.
During the alpha test, the development team aims to gather feedback from players on three primary areas: the game experience, the game economy, and the game design. Players are encouraged to provide constructive feedback and report any bugs or issues that they encounter during the test.
In addition to the quality assurance test, Nekoverse is also offering a prize pool of 5 million ASG tokens for participants of the testnet. During the alpha test, the development team will take a snapshot of the leaderboard for each event in the Fatal Tower and World Boss game modes.
The Fatal Tower mode is a PvP game mode that is accessible to all players for two days each week. The top 200 players in each Fatal Tower event will receive rewards from the prize pool. On the other hand, the World Boss mode is a community effort to defeat a powerful enemy. Players will need tickets to participate in the World Boss fight, which can be earned by joining community events. Rewards will be distributed based on the amount of damage done by each player in the fight against the World Boss.
Token rewards will be distributed following the launch of the mainnet. Anything else earned during this playtest is only for the testnet and will not be transferred to the mainnet.
Nekoverse: Everything You Need To Know
Nekoverse is a strategy game based on the Solana blockchain, where players control Nekos, which are 3D cat creatures that can level up and equip gear. The game offers various modes where players compete with one or more Nekos, and there are exploration and resource-farming options for those who prefer to take a break from the PvP battles.
Nekoverse aims to build an economic loop driven by players, focused on resource collection and crafting. Players can gather materials from battles and adventures, use them to craft items, and then either use the items to go on more challenging adventures or sell them to other players.
In the game, Anima Spirit Gems (ASG) is used as the main game token for activities that require in-game costs, while the Nekoverse token (NVS) is used for staking and governance. Nekoverse plans to offer Neko breeding in the future, as well as guilds and land/building features. The game has also created a mini-economy within its Discord community, with rewards and events for members.
