Neopets Metaverse, a play-and-earn virtual pet game based on the original Neopets classic, has relaunched in open alpha amid the Polygon GameOn event.
The Neopets Alpha: Winter Edition is now available for a week until March 17th, 3 pm (UTC). Interested players can sign up here to gain access and stand a chance to win one of the ten Masterpiece NFTs or the $50 MATIC grand prize.
While there are no P2E rewards, players will get a sense of how the virtual pet game works. This includes how to expand their team to take on the Battledome and mini-games that will drop precious materials for players to craft and build their virtual homes.
Everyone who logs in will receive a free playable Neopet and will be able to adopt more Neopets as they play. There are daily, weekly, and main quests to keep players engaged at all times. During the alpha, players can access five mini-games, including Turmac Roll, Meerca Cheese, Ultimate Bullseye, Icy Islands, and Snowball Fight. The more mini-games they play, the more crafting resources they'll get.
Players with three or more Neopets can enter the Battledome to engage in turn-based PvP battles and compete for unique prizes. Terror Mountain, a new winter-themed map for Neopets Meta, will also be accessible. Those who complete 30 mini-games will receive unique Christmas furniture.
