Onessus Unveils Operation Instinct Gaming Platform
News

As mentioned, Onessus revealed their new project, a game engine, called Operation Instinct. The business offers services for hire and pre-existing solutions that other people can build on with a platform that supports NFTs as well as blockchain tokens.

Onessus and Battleground NFTs

In their prime, Onessus grew rapidly. Their portfolio includes the virtual environment Voxelville; the fantasy FPS HodlGod, which was running a play-and-earn beta over a year ago, and the never-released space game Yield Universe.

They sold different types of NFTs for these games, the majority of which have never seen any practical value. This will change with the introduction of Battleground NFTs. To begin, any NFT from the Onessus suite worth more than $1 USD can be burned for credits.

These credits are redeemable for Battleground NFTs. Holders of select NFTs, such as Niftyville real estate, will receive free airdrops of these new NFTs. So, what exactly does the Battleground NFT do? It's essentially a pass to the game development side of Operation Instinct. It grants access to exclusive game development Discord servers. Anyone who wants Onessus to develop for them must own one of these NFTs.

Battleground owners can license out pre-built clients (such as the mini-games listed below) for their own play-to-earn projects.

Future Prospects

The team intends to continue developing its current portfolio of games. The Niftyville team, for example, hopes to start exotic car racing by the end of this year. The Niftyville Exotic Car Races, which use the Operation Instinct engine, allow players to sign up their Exotic Car NFTs for the races.

Niftyville also intends to produce a 'gang war' mini-game in which people submit avatars to an AI match and battle it out until only one remains standing. This sounds exactly like Project Venom, but in a more normal, metropolitan context. They are also working on a generative character collection. Players can then utilize these avatars in different games to create a visual, online identity.

The fantasy FPS HodlGod will return with a new 2v2 mode, skill-based matchmaking, a PvE adventure, and an AI-run gladiatorial combat mini-game. HodlGod's tokenomics will also be tweaked such that participants with greater skill levels receive higher payments.
