Otherside: Legends of the Mara Shares Details on Seasons 1 and 2
Yuga Labs has unveiled more details about the first two seasons of LOTM, a 2D strategy game that forms part of the Otherside's metagame.
What's coming up in Legends of the Mara, according to Yuga Labs
BAYC creator Yuga Labs has revealed fresh details on Legends of the Mara (LOTM), a 2D gaming experience based on the Otherside.
To recap, Legends of the Mara is a collection-based NFT strategy game that picks up where the second trip left off. It is a 2D experience powered by ApeCoin and focuses on the Koda collection, as well as a new collection – Mara – which can evolve into Kodamara.
According to Yuga, LOTM will be split into Seasons 1 and 2, allowing players, or Voyagers, to participate in various lore linked to the Otherside's metagame.
In Season 1, players will meet The Shattered, a group of mysterious Titans that awoke shortly after the Vessels descended. Voyagers will learn different tactics to combat and battle with The Shades to constrain The Shattered, keeping them from unleashing their full powers.
The Shades' abilities, however, will start to crumble in Season 2, and The Shattered will swarm into the Otherside in full force. As The Shattered unleash their brutal assaults, players must rally a defense with Koda, Kodamara, Mara, and The Friends (3rd party PFPs). Players can defend the Otherside by strategically equipping slots and hitpoints (HP) on game cards. Once a card's HP gets exhausted, players can let them recover over a cooldown period or use other means to heal sooner.
It should be noted that Voyagers will be rewarded with treasures called Unearthed Artifacts once a Shattered is defeated. While some Artifacts will be consistent across all leaderboard tiers, each tier will allocate some special rewards to those who swiftly vanquish a Shattered.
