Behold, "Queen of the Metaverse" now officially belongs to Paris Hilton

Taking a deeper foray into the metaverse, Paris Hilton has filed new trademark applications for "Queen of the Metaverse" and "Cryptoween" with USPTO. According to trademark attorney Josh Gerben, the iconic celeb will likely use those trademarks to offer virtual social environments, NFTs, digital tokens, and more.

To list, the applications cover:

  • Entertainment services such as virtual environments in which users can interact for recreational, leisure, or entertainment purposes;
  • Online non-downloadable digital collectibles, namely digital tokens and NFTs, clothing, headgear, footwear, eyewear, perfumes, cosmetics, make-up, and more.

About Paris Hilton's endeavors in Web3

Make no mistake, Paris Hilton is also known as an OG crypto queen thanks to her early involvement in the crypto-verse. She started investing in crypto as early as 2016. Then created her first NFT in 2019 before selling it for charity in March 2020. In April 2021, Hilton teamed up with designer Blake Kathryn to launch her own NFT collectibles. One of them, a 1/1 Iconic Crypto Queen art, was sold for a whopping $1,11 million.

"I see NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, as the future of the creator economy. They use blockchain technology to help creators increase the value of their work and share it with fans in real-time. And blockchain technology will allow artists to get paid on secondary sales as well. That's never happened before and it is mindblowing how much that can change things for artists," Hilton wrote in a blog post last year.

But apart from NFTs, the American media personality has made news in the metaverse as well. Right on the 1st of January this year, Hilton launched Paris World, a virtual island filled with DJ stages, nightclubs, helicopters, and her own mansion. Earlier this month, the celebrity's 11:11 Media partnered with The Sandbox to build her virtual Malibu Mansion

With Hilton's latest trademark filings, many can't wait to see what Web3 ventures the OG crypto queen will take on next.
