Prospect 100 & amfAR Host NFT Competition to Support AIDS Research with Celebrity Judges
Prospect 100 and amfAR are hosting an NFT competition with celebrity judges where contestants are tasked with creating backgrounds for characters in the latter’s first ever upcoming NFT collection that is aimed at raising funds for supporting AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and advocacy.
Prospect 100, a supporter of creative ideas by innovative thinkers looking to co-create with organizations, has teamed up with amfAR to host an NFT competition that aims to raise funds for supporting AIDS research, with the contest judges being celebrities such as Kendall Jenner, Baz Luhrmann, Jeff Koons, and more.
amfAR is a foundation for AIDS research, who are teaming up with Prospect 100 to launch their first ever NFT collection which will feature a set of characters taking center stage of each asset’s artwork. Contestants are tasked with designing a background for these characters, thus co-creating an NFT together with the leading non-profit organization for AIDS research that also aims to raise funds for HIV prevention, advocacy, and treatment education through this humanitarian collection.
The public will be able to vote for the submissions they deem best, after which the judges will pick out a total of 100 submissions that will be selected for use in the collection. These backgrounds will be combined randomly with the characters, completing the NFT collection and providing the opportunity to have your art not only be in collaboration with amfAR, but also with a famous artist if one of their traits is attached to your NFT, thus offering “a multi-artist collaboration!”
The hosts have clarified that contestants who get their artwork accepted will not be able to profit from the sale of these NFTs, but will have their work donated to the foundation instead, with the nonprofit organization directly receiving all primary sale funds to support their research and educational efforts.
The competition started on June 21 at 15:00 GMT and will end on July 10 at 00:59 GMT.
