Rage Effect launches into beta on June 30
Ending on July 15, the open beta allows players to enjoy the Solana-based first-person shooter across 4 different game modes and 4 different maps.
Rage Effect, a play-and-earn FPS on the Solana network, is gearing up for its open beta launch starting at the end of the month on June 30.
This beta test will end on July 15, making it a longer event compared to the alpha test. Other than the playtest length, there are various other differences too. Players will now get to shoot their way through 2 new maps: Skyscraper and Doomsday. This brings the total amount of playable maps in the beta to 4. There will also be 2 new game modes: Demolition and Domination. The first one has players plant and defuse bombs, while the second one has one side defend their base, while the other tries to conquer it. Alongside these game modes, players will also be able to play Team Deathmatch and Free for All.
New silencers, scopes and more weapon accessories have also been introduced, as well as in-game Rage Guilds that players can make and join. There are 3 ranks in every guild: Commanders, Officers and Members. The team states that Commanders “from top guilds will have higher voting powers in our DAO & access to exclusive content.”
Next to all these welcome additions is also some new NFT artwork, “divided into Shershah, Badshah, Veer, Captain, and Jawaan!” These names resemble the rarity of an NFT, with Shershah being the rarest type. The NFTs “will have abilities and taxes corresponding to their rarity.”
With the beta event announcement also comes a partnership with avatar platform Ready Player Me, bringing custom avatars to the first-person shooter.
While the beta is open for everyone to play, those who’d like to play the game a few days earlier need to be holding a beta spot that will allow them to play from June 26 instead of waiting for the last day of the month. This gives some an advantage to climbing the leaderboard, on which the top 100 will be eligible for a whitelist spot for the game’s Genesis Skin NFT collection set to drop sometime in July.
Backed by Solana Ventures and made in the Unity game engine, the game’s own earnable token, $RGE, is planned for listing in Q3 this year.
