Ronin Network has Launched the Saigon Validator Program: Applications are Now Open
As Ronin's testnet moves to Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS), interested community members can now apply to become a validator to test out this new upgrade.

All about Ronin Network's Saigon Validator Program
Ronin Network, the Ethereum sidechain of Axie Infinity, has launched the Saigon Validator program as it moves to DPoS. Launched in November 2022, Saigon is an open testnet that allows developers to test and deploy their smart contracts.
As of writing, Ronin is using a Proof of Staked Authority (PoA) consensus. However, it will soon be upgraded to Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS). The team is now simulating the upgrade on Saigon - if successful, it will be deployed on Ronin later.
DPoS is another consensus mechanism that works similarly to Proof of Stake (PoS). In PoS, validators are randomly selected to confirm transactions on the network. In DPoS, users who stake tokens will get to vote for which validators they want to verify blocks.
According to Ronin, the Saigon Validator program is now open for applications until January 12th. The team has allocated 18,000 mainnet RON as a reward for validators with minimal downtime and those who share quality feedback about the testnet. Those interested in becoming validators can fill out the application form here.
On top of that, everyone will have the opportunity to stake their tokens to a validator on Saigon. A new analytics dashboard is now available for users to see validators' uptimes, total Testnet RON staked, and reward APR before deciding where to stake their tokens.
The team is also taking a step further to create a more decentralized Ronin. Moving forward, all ongoing and closed governance proposals along with their voting results will be visible to everyone. For more details, check out the official post here.
