Game Jam is Here
The Sandbox Game, renowned for its immersive virtual world and user-generated content, is launching the Backrooms Game Jam. This unique event provides a platform for developers to showcase their creativity and build captivating experiences that captivate players.
The prize pool is 50000 SAND and will be shared amongst the top entries. The first, second, and third will take 10000, 6000, and 3500 SAND, respectively. The following six participants will take 1500 SAND each. The Top 5 with the best ideas will get 1000 SAND; the best design will have 1000 SAND, while the first 100 participants will get 100 SAND, respectively.
Eligibility and Participation
After the submission of entries, players will be reached by a Game Maker Fund representative. The Game Jam starts June 19th, and the deadline for entry is July 2nd, 3 pm UTC. The voting process will run from July 3rd to July 28th, while the result will be announced on July 29th. The judging criteria uses a 24 points scale divided into categories: overall creative idea, level design, game design, and playability. Wow, factor and vision serve as bonus points.
Scenario's AI Generator is the primary means for accessing the Game Jam. The feature is available on Discord Server, and players must assign a role to themselves before corresponding features start showing. Generating a design requires a prompt that includes the word 'voxel'. AI Scenario is better because it offers numerous features that enhance creativity. Using the platform saves time and also allows players to generate creative content.
The entry must be designed using the Game Maker software version 0.8.3 to qualify for the competition. Entries must have some playability and can include assets. The entry must be unique and not a copy of an existing one. Once a submission has been made, it can no longer be updated until results are released.
