Saudi Arabia to Celebrate its National Day for the First Time in the Metaverse
During the celebration, visitors will be able to explore the Kingdom and the multi-faceted Saudi culture in Decentraland. Lucky ones might even walk away with special Saudi national attires in the form of wearable NFTs.
Saudi is bringing its National Day to the virtual world for the first time
The Bold Group, a Saudi-based creative firm, is bringing the 92nd Saudi National Day celebration into the Decentraland metaverse. With that, the Kingdom's citizens worldwide will be able to celebrate the monumental day in the digital realm for the first time.
Starting from September 22nd to September 24th, those who register on the official page of SaudiOnMeta will be able to access the one-of-a-kind experience in Decentraland. The Bold Group has teamed up with King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) to bring such activation to life.
Through the virtual realm, visitors will be able to explore the Kingdom, its landmarks, food, music, art, and other aspects of Saudi culture. The multi-faceted Saudi culture will be displayed in an open-air museum, with each level showing various representations of the country's beauty.
In addition, the experience will feature tailor-made Saudi national attires created and inspired by the different regions of the Kingdom. If you're lucky, you might even walk away with one of these iconic pieces as wearable NFT during the event.
The Bold Group will also provide POAPs (Proof of Attendance Protocol) as collectible NFTs for users taking part in the first virtual Saudi National Day celebration.
"We're witnessing a major transformation in the Saudi digital industry where Saudi Arabia is being increasingly recognized as a key player in the global technology scene, enabled by the developments achieved in the pursuit of realizing the Saudi Vision 2030," said Ziad AbuRjaily, Creative Technology Director in the Bold Experience Unit.
"The idea to usher the Saudi National Day, a historically traditional celebration, into the new era of technology that was inspired by the challenge of convening people across the Kingdom's 13 different regions to celebrate Saudi Arabia in one virtual space."
