Solana Foundation announces the Solana Summer Camp Online Hackathon
Up to $5 million in prizes and seed funding is available for this online hackathon that anyone can enter.
The Solana Foundation announced the start of the Solana Summer Camp Hackathon earlier this week, an online event that started on July 11 and ends on August 16.
This marks the 6th Solana Hackathon hosted so far, with up to $5 million in prizes and seed funding available for this hackathon that anyone can enter. There will be Twitter Spaces “featuring talks and workshops from luminaries in the industry,” as well as free month-long co-working spaces held in-person that participants can sign up for, taking place in cities such as San Francisco, Singapore, Sydney and more.
There are 6 different prize tracks: Gaming, Web3, DAO, DeFi, Mobile and Payments. In each track there are prizes for the 5 best projects, ranging from $10k USDC for 5th place to $50k USDC for 1st place. Next to these prize tracks, there are also 4 different awards: Grand Champion ($65k USDC), University Award ($30k USDC), Community Choice Award ($10k USDC) and Climate Award ($10k USDC). The Grand Champion, apart from receiving funding, will also get three passes to a future Solana conference called Solana Breakpoint, held in Lisbon, Portugal from November 4 to 7, where they may get the chance to talk about their project. The Community Choice Award brings with it an exclusive NFT, while the University Award is given to the best student team. Projects that are climate-friendly have a chance at earning the Climate Award.
Some of the judges for this Summer Camp include FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, Solana Labs co-founders Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal, Head of Samsung Next David Lee and more.
