Splinterland Increases Runi NFT's Value
Additional use cases were added to the NFTs to increase their sales.
Runi Gains More Utility
Runi, a generative PFP style NFT, has increased in functionality as Splinterlands reveals its plans for the near future. Splinterlands started their Runi sale on the 25th of October. This sale will subsequently end on the 25th of November. However, the sales have been quite slow, so the team decided to release some plans to increase Runi NFTs' use cases.
Runis is a unique style NFT that exists on the Ethereum blockchain. It currently functions as the profile picture NFTs and will soon be playable. In addition, Splinterland plans to introduce a staking contract. This is in a bid to allow their players to stake their Runi in return for being able to use their Runi card in-game. The in-game card contains the same artwork as the player’s specific Runi. This is to promote the uniqueness of every player. In addition, owners possess the full commercial rights to use the specific artwork for their Runis.
More Details on Runi's Utility
As part of the plans to increase Runis value, Runi Reconstruction, a big feature in development, allows Runi owners to merge two Runis. In the merging process, wanted traits are picked from each Runi and added to the first Runi. Then the second Runi is burned forever, leaving the Reconstructed Runi with a new trait.
Special badges can be earned by players and added to a Runi. These badges will be made visible on the Runi card, both on Ethereum and within Splinterlands, and can also serve as NFTs themselves. Another plan suggested by the team was the potential for Runi owners to stake their Runis to a guild for a bonus. In addition, players can stake their Runis to land plots when the land gameplay is released next year. Finally, the Runis could also be a membership badge for some future perk.
