Splinterlands Releases Land Phase 1.5 Whitepaper
The whitepaper contains various details on Phase 1 and 1.5 of the upcoming large land expansion for Splinterlands called The Secret of Praetoria.
Splinterlands has recently published the Land Phase 1.5 whitepaper, giving us various details on what to expect from the huge upcoming expansion to the blockchain trading card game.
Titled The Secret of Praetoria, this land expansion will allow players to claim land NFTs on which it will be possible to create various buildings white gathering a variety of different resources and making new tradable and rentable cards to use in battle. There will be a total of 150 regions owned by players, with every region containing 1000 land plots, meaning there will be a total of 150k plots of land that are split into 10 different tracts within every region. The regions themselves are grouped into 7 different territories, meaning that every territory has between 20 to 22 regions.
This large expansion will be released into multiple phases, starting with land surveying in phase 1 that is scheduled for Q1 2023, followed by phase 1.5 potentially commencing before the end of Q2 or Q3. According to the 2023 roadmap, phase 2, focused on buildings & resources, is planned for a Q3 release. Land surveying means that players will be able to uncover details on land plots by redeeming PLOT, TRACT or REGION tokens for unsurveyed land deed NFTs and then turning those land deeds into surveyed NFTs. Plot details include terrain type, rarity and more. Phase 1.5 however is set to feature “some initial resource production” alongside card staking and DEC staking, though none of this is completely sure as of yet, as the team has clarified that “everything is subject to change from what is specified here in both phase 1.5 and in future phases, including all of the mechanics, resources, names, numbers, etc. as we work through the development and playtesting.
