Splinterlands Unveils Runicore, a Set of Dual-purpose Cards
Blockchain collectible trading card game, Splinterlands has launched a new project, Runicore, which would serve as a PFP on Ethereum and a unique card in Splinterland TCG.
Splinterlands has announced its latest project called Runicore. The new project will bring a limited edition promo card to Splinterlands, and The Runi card will be available only as a level 4 legendary card; each copy of this card will have its unique artwork.
The neutral, legendary card will cost 6 mana. It comes with 4 attack strengths, 1 speed, 1 armour and 5 health. The card has four abilities, including Opportunity, True Strike, Reflection Shield and a newly introduced ability called Rebirth. Rebirth is a self-resurrect ability which could be used only once in a battle, and it can also be used to resurrect another card or vice-versa without altering its rebirth ability.
Minting of Runicore
Ruins will be minted on the Ethereum network costing approximately 500 USD in ETH. The minting process is scheduled for October 25th, 2022, at 14:00 EST. There are only 6,500 Runis to be sold. For every mint, there is a 2% chance of generating a gold foil NFT.
Splinterlands plans to sell 2000 whitelist spots through its store; the event will take place September 22 to investors and players. Participants on the whitelist will be able to reserve a Runi and purchase it for a 50% discounted price. The whitelist spots cost 100 VOUCHERS (approximately $65). Whitelist owners who fail to mint their Runi within 30 days will forfeit their opportunity as well as their VOUCHERS.
Players who possess a Runi can stake them to a special Ethereum contract. However, the player still owns the NFT but can’t sell or transfer them until they are unstaked. Players who stake an Ethereum Runi will be given an in-game copy of their unique card by the Splinterlands system. Unfortunately, the Splinterlands Runi NFTs cannot be bought, sold, traded or rented but a staked card can be delegated to a different Hive wallet, where a third-party can manage Runi rentals. Runi holders will receive a full, commercial use license for their unique Runi artwork serving only as an individual PFP art.
