Square Enix Unveils New NFT Drop for its Web3 Game Symbiogenesis
The renowned video game developer has launched a Discord-based event in which players may earn Symbiogenesis NFTs for free.
Japanese video game publisher Square Enix is taking a significant leap into blockchain gaming with its latest initiative for Symbiogenesis. The company recently announced an NFT drop campaign, engaging players through various activities.
NFTs for Discord Users
In this unique campaign, players engage in a host of activities on the Discord server to earn Treasure Hunter membership points. These points contribute to a ranking system, with top-ranking players getting to mint an NFT character for free. This approach marks a departure from traditional NFT drops, fostering community engagement.
The Allow List Entry Campaign
Central to this event is the Allow List Entry Campaign, which is the only way for gamers to mint NFT Characters from Symbiogenesis. High-ranking players will get to mint a character at no cost. In addition, players will earn "Relics" as part of their involvement, which can be redeemed for points in the next phase.
Event Schedule and Participation
The campaign runs from November 7 to 21st, leading up to the game's release in December. Players must connect their wallets to the campaign website and cannot change their wallet address or Discord account once entered. The rules for point collection include taking part in activities like the 'Prologue Quiz,' 'The Lucky Bloom,' 'The Majority-Minority Game,' and the challenging 'Hella Difficult Quiz.'
Ranking and Rewards System
Players will be ranked based on the total points earned. In cases of tied points, the first to reach the point level will be ranked higher. Top-ranking players will be eligible for Phase 2 of the Character Mint.
Incentives for All Participants
Anyone taking part in the campaign will be eligible for Phase 3 of the NFT Mint. Those ranked 301st or below will receive special relics, boosting their chances in Chapter 2's Allow List Entry.
Square Enix plans to distribute 500 NFT characters in phases. Initially, 10 slots are reserved for their stakeholders and developers, followed by 90 slots for top-ranking players. The rest, 400 slots, will be open to all participants during the campaign.
What is Symbiogenesis?
First announced in November 2022, Symbiogenesis marks Square Enix's entry into blockchain gaming. The game combines digital collectible art with an interactive narrative centered around NFT characters. Utilizing both the Ethereum and Polygon networks, the game addresses the issue of high transaction costs and slow processing times commonly associated with Ethereum.
