News

The developers behind the sci-fi gaming ecosystem Star Atlas have published a content-packed sneak peek of the upcoming 2.2 update, showing us a variety of additions making their way to the latest version of the Unreal Engine 5 title.

What Does the Sneak Peek Reveal?

This lengthy sneak peek video, which lasts around 7 minutes, is full of varied gameplay content teasing a variety of different aspects players can expect to experience in version 2.2 of this third-person blockchain title.

Combat Racing & Ship Customization

One of the first exciting elements shown is combat racing, where up to 100 players will be able to hover race their way across racetracks in outdoor environments while blasting each other to the finish line. In order to shoot and outmaneuver everyone in style, you can customize your vehicle with a variety of skins, some of which we get to see for the Fimbul Airbike and Calico Stud. Next to skins, the Ship Configurator also lets you change the components of your vehicle, meaning you could add another weapon with better stats to help you get an edge in fast-paced race combat.

The teaser also shows us some freeform driving and flying, including in space, with the video teasing that improvements have been made for dogfighting.

New Characters & Third-person Shooter Gameplay

The sneak peek reveals beautiful renditions of new characters that include MUD Humans, ONI Mierese aliens, and Ustur androids, all of which seem to be customizable with various different outfits.

Vehicle combat isn’t the only way you’ll be able to blast each other in Star Atlas – the sneak peek also gives us a glimpse of a work-in-progress look at third-person shooter gameplay featuring varied ranged weapons, grenade throwing, and some agile movement such as sliding, flying, and dodging.
