Star Atlas Announces Escape Velocity Updates
The announcement includes information on loot drop refinement, gameplay conclusion, and general strategies.

Important Dates and Loot Distribution Details
Star Atlas announces that the sunsetting of SAGE: Escape Velocity will take place on July 7, 2023. The highly anticipated loot distribution date is set for Thursday, June 29. To ensure fair gameplay, anti-botting measures, including an EV loot cap and bot identification, are being implemented to enhance the experience for all participants.
Escape Velocity serves as the inaugural module in the SAGE product line by Star Atlas. Using the Solana blockchain, it aims to test the mass on-chain movement of thousands of player ships on a single map. To encourage widespread participation, Star Atlas is offering over $600K in player rewards, creating an exciting opportunity for players to earn valuable incentives while exploring the game.
The Gameplay Mechanics
To engage in Escape Velocity, players will need a Solana wallet (Phantom is recommended), some $SOL (Solana's native cryptocurrency), and a minimum of 1,000 $ATLAS (Star Atlas's native token). Each player starts with a Fimbul Lowbie ship, which can be spawned for 1,000 ATLAS. Additional ships can be spawned for scanning purposes, costing 1,000 ATLAS. All ATLAS spent on spawning ships will be refunded upon despawning.
During gameplay, each ship has three actions available in real-time: Scanning, Movement, and Observation. Scanning allows ships to search for loot, with a maximum cap of 15 scans in 30 seconds across all ships, to prevent spamming. Ships can move to different sectors within their warp range, and the "Observe" action provides a unique view for exploring the system.
Star Atlas adjusted the Loot Table just before the launch of Escape Velocity. The probability of spawning loot in the Copper tier was significantly increased but at the expense of lower-tier probabilities. Additionally, the amount of ATLAS dropped in the Copper tier was reduced from 100 ATLAS to 10 ATLAS.
