Star Atlas Partners with MetaGravity to Enable 30K+ Players in a Single Game Environment
Through the new partnership, Star Atlas will be able to have up to 5000 players in a single game environment using MetaGravity technology, with plans to scale to more than 30k concurrent players in a shared, persistent environment.

MetaGravity has announced their first major partnership with sci-fi gaming metaverse Star Atlas, allowing the latter to use advanced technology from the former in order to make it possible for there to be more than 30k players in a single game environment.
The announcement officially came at the recently-held Solana PlayGG Game Festival in San Diego, where a successful 5000-player stress test took place using advanced interactive bots in a persistent, non-instanced environment, marking a huge milestone for scaling game worlds in Unreal Engine 5. The innovative feature is set to be included in a future game update on the Epic Games Store, allowing seamless scaling of up to 5000 players, with 30k players being the next groundbreaking milestone that both sides would like to reach.
The CEO of ATMTA and co-founder of Star Atlas, Michael Wagner, said the following:
“Since inception, Star Atlas has had the objective to build the best next-gen player experience, setting a new bar for the gaming industry. With its top-tier galactic-scale game spearheading a multi-genre space saga, Star Atlas had to look beyond the currently available technologies and use cutting-edge tech know-how to bring its vision of a persistent high-fidelity metaverse to life.
In a vast, prosperous ecosystem that rivals a real-world economy, a single persistent reality for all players is the only acceptable option and our partnership with the MetaGravity team is essential in making this vision a reality. We are thrilled to be partnering with them to change the digital world for the better.”
By using MetaGravity’s technology, Star Atlas is ensuring that players get a true metaverse experience that isn’t limited in scale, making it ready to handle a large official release in the future. According to MetaGravity CEO and founder, Rashid Mansoor, their metaverse infrastructure can support “tons of thousands of players” within a single persistent environment, while enabling seamless integration of their technology into Unreal Engine 5. Throughout this initial integration phase, Mansoor has stated that Star Atlas will continue to get dedicated support from its team of network engineers and Unreal developers.
