Star Atlas provides info on upcoming browser-based multiplayer game: SCREAM
New info on the upcoming game module for the Solana-based sci-fi metaverse has been revealed. SCREAM will be playable straight from the browser and will have factions fight for control over many star systems.
The development team behind the sci-fi metaverse Star Atlas has published some detailed info on their upcoming browser game called SCREAM.
Described as “the next major Star Atlas browser-playable gameplay module with a full economic loop,” their latest issue of the Atlas Star newsletter goes in depth about this blockchain title, among other things.
“SCREAM will be a blockchain-native multiplayer game complete with economic, political, and strategic elements. This will be the first time that players can use their ships to fight for the future of their faction with fun, active, repeatable, on-chain gameplay with earning potential.”
The goal in this browser-based game is to conquer various star systems, with starbases being at the core of gameplay, buildings with multiple tiers that “serve as economic and political support that allow a faction to control a given star system.” The more starbases of higher tier present, the further off a faction’s members can gather materials.
“We are proud to say that most of our features will execute and resolve on the blockchain, from attacking starbases to harvesting resources, even the location of your fleets. Every bit of game logic that has an economic impact will be safeguarded on-chain.”
Starbases not only serve as a place for storing more than 20 different types of resources that can be found throughout a diverse range of different planets, but also as an area where players can craft items, trade and construct “more extensive and complex space infrastructures to support their factions in outer space.” This makes starbases hugely important, and will require faction members to work together to successfully defend these crucial structures.
