Starbucks Launches NFT-Based Loyalty Program tagged “Starbucks Odyssey”
American multi-national chain of coffeehouses, Starbucks has launched its Starbucks Odyssey NFT-based loyalty program, set to provide holders with new, immersive coffee experiences.
Washington-based coffeehouse chain Starbucks has unveiled its previously announced “Starbucks Odyssey” as its NFT-based loyalty program. In May, Starbucks announced its plan to create the branded series of NFT in an article released by Brady Brewer, chief marketing officer and Adam Brotman, an adviser at Starbucks. The company is venturing into the possibility of using Web3 and NFTs to establish a new, global digital community.
Details of Starbucks Odyssey
The newly unveiled program will enable Starbucks Rewards members and employees to earn and buy NFT stamps allowing them to enjoy new, immersive coffee experiences. Like many other NFT-based programs and games, the point value of the NFT stamps will be based on their rarity; members can purchase and sell these stamps within the marketplace. The NFT is built on Polygon and secured by the “proof-of-stake” blockchain technology. NFT holders will be granted access to exclusive merchandise and rewards ranging from virtual espresso martini class to exclusive Starbucks Reserve Roasteries events.
Aside from the iconic Starbucks artwork co-created with Starbucks partners, Starbucks will be collaborating with external artists to create new stamp designs. This opportunity will be the very first time Starbucks members and partners will gain access to these treasured assets. A percentage of the proceeds earned from the sale of limited-edition stamps will be donated to support issues relating to Starbucks partners and Starbucks Reward members.
Interested participants can join the waitlist starting from the 12th of September; this will give customers and partners a chance to be among the first to gain access to the Starbucks Odyssey experience. The immersive event will be launched later this year.
