STEPN announces partnership with Atlético de Madrid and WhaleFin to launch Genesis NFT Collection
STEPN is launching a co-branded Genesis NFT collection featuring 1001 digitally hand-drawn Atlético de Madrid sneakers usable within the Web3 lifestyle app on the Ethereum network.
The STEPN team recently announced a partnership with Spanish football club Atlético de Madrid and digital asset platform WhaleFin to launch a co-branded Genesis sneaker NFT collection.
In the developer’s official Twitter thread, the team has revealed that the NFT collection will feature 1001 digitally hand-drawn Atlético de Madrid sneakers, split into Common, Uncommon and Rare football boots. These NFTs will be usable in the fitness app on the Ethereum network. Owners of these sneakers, which feature elements that are “distinctly attributed to Atlético de Madrid’s Trophies, Stadiums, and Players respectively,” will be able to receive special benefits from both partners “on an ongoing basis.” Some of these may include winning one of 11 exclusively signed jerseys, getting bonus interest coupons, front-row access to limited NFT airdrops from WhaleFin and more.
Both partners will also host a raffle for co-branded NFT holders, giving them a chance to earn an “exclusive VIP experience” for two people to watch a match live Atlético de Madrid’s stadium, Cívitas Metropolitano.
For the first round of the NFT launch, 200 sneakers will go on sale, 180 of which will be from WhaleFin, featuring 160 Common, 19 Uncommon and one pair of exclusive Rare sneakers. Registrations for this round open on August 26 at 00:00 UTC+8 and end on September 2 at 09:00 UTC+8. The link can be found in this tweet. STEPN will purchase 20 Common sneakers which they will raffle as community rewards.
