Tactical turn-based RPG Nomad Exiles launches into open alpha
For a limited time, players can play an alpha version of the game by connecting their wallet on the game's website. Players can play through 5 different battles in which they'll get to control a total of 3 different characters.
Nomad Exiles, a play-to-earn tactical turn-based role-playing game, has launched into open alpha this month.
Players can connect their wallet on the game’s website and play through 5 different battles using a variety of different characters, without the need of paying any transaction fees. The alpha is available for a limited time on the BNB Chain, with no specific time given on when it will exactly end. As of writing, players can still jump in and play. There is no mobile version for this alpha test.
The gameplay is inspired by popular turn-based franchises, such as Heroes of Might and Magic, King’s Bounty and more. There are a total of 3 different characters, 1 melee, a warrior, and 2 ranged, a mage and rogue, that players get to control in this version, with each one having 2 different special abilities next to their basic melee and ranged attacks, with one special ability per character usable straight from the start, while the other becomes available in a couple of turns. These are heroes that will be integrated into the game as NFTs in the future, which players will be able to eventually buy on the game’s marketplace. According to the roadmap, NFT integration is planned for Q3 this year, the same quarter in which the beta version of the game will come out, as well as a mobile game client.
There will be an in-game token called EXILE, while the NFT heroes will be purchased using the $PRIDE token, a cryptocurrency that the game studio will use as entry for Nomad Exiles and their other future games. In this case, that means buying one of the 3 NFT heroes: Warrior, Rogue and Mage. Each is divided into 3 types: Common, Epic and Artifact. Common heroes can only be obtained via airdrops and contests, while Artifact heroes can be found in Lootboxes. Epic ones will be purchasable from the marketplace. Lootboxes come in 3 different types: Rare, Epic and Legendary. Aside from varying in price, from $150 USDT to $300 USDT, each drop a hero NFT of a certain rarity. The first two types of Lootboxes have a chance to drop a Rare, Legendary, Mythical or Artifact hero, while the Legendary Lootbox omits Rare heroes with the Legendary rarity being the minimum that players can get.
Whitelists for buying Lootboxes and Land NFTs at discounted prices seem to be currently ongoing. For details on how to get onto these, check out the team’s Medium post here.
