The Red Village Launches The $21k Death Cup Championship
To celebrate the release of the new game mode “To-The-Death”, The Red Village launched The Death Cup Championship with $21,000 in cash prizes.
What is The Red Village Death Cup Championship all about?
To begin with, The Red Village (TRV) is a dark-fantasy P2E blockchain game where players take on the role of Battlemasters, sending their Champions to PvP battles. To celebrate the launch of the new game mode “To-The-Death” PvP match, the team kicked off The Death Cup Championship with $21,000 worth of cash prizes. As of writing, the event already started on June 30th and will run for 4 weeks until July 28th.
What's so exciting about the tournament is that players can take part in “To-The-Death” matches. According to The Red Village, these are high-stakes, high-reward games. All players need to do is to challenge each other and set their own terms. It could be anything from the prize money to owning each other's Champion. Given that, some players may actually lose their Champion NFTs when they lost the match.
Reward structure of The Death Cup
Now we know how The Death Cup works, let's take a look at the reward structure. One thing for sure is that tons of incentives await participants in various categories.
The first on the list is the Easter Egg Numbers event which has a total prize pool of $10,000. How it functions is that the TRV team will use a random number generator (RNG) to pick 100 numbers between 1 - 1,000. These numbers will then correspond to a To-The-Death match. If you happen to be a winner of the Death match that matches the RNG number, you will earn an extra $100 for that match.
Next, there are weekly prizes to reward the top 3 Champions and the top 3 Barracks as well. To earn those big bucks, Champions and Barracks will need to ensure they clinch the most wins for the week. Each category will come with a $4,000 prize pool to be given away as below:
Other than that, The Red Village community can also vote for the Best Call-Outs, Best Smack Talks, and Bravest Battlemasters during the event.
