The Sandbox Announces the Warner Music Group Game Jam
Hosted in partnership with Warner Music Group, the game jam challenges interested participants to create a game experience where music is the main theme. A 30k $SAND prize pool is up for grabs for the top 10 entries, with submissions set to close on January 2nd, 2023 at 3 PM UTC.

The Sandbox, in partnership with one of the biggest record labels around, has announced its last game development-related contest of this year: the Warner Music Group Game Jam.
The goal of this competition is to use The Sandbox Game Maker, a no-coding 3D game engine, to make a game which has the theme of music at its core, with the team stating that participants are free to “create a social experience but a game with a story line as well.”
Despite the partnership, entries are not allowed to include any of the present WMG artists and IPs.
Submissions opened today, December 12th, and will close on January 2nd, 2023 at 3 PM UTC, after which the judges consisting of both The Sandbox and WMG staff will be voting between January 3rd and January 27th, with the results set to be revealed on February 4th. The prize pool for this game jam is 30k $SAND, allocated to the top 10 spots, with the winner set to be rewarded with 12k $SAND, while 2nd place takes home 7k $SAND, 3rd place 4k $SAND and the remaining spots get 1k $SAND each.
Judges will be voting using a 100 points scale that is based on the following categories:
- Overall Idea (25 Points)
- Level/Game Design (25 Points)
- Creativity (25 Points)
- Playability (25 Points)
- Bonus Points: Wow Factor (up to 25 Points extra)
