The Sandbox Discontinues SAND/MATIC Staking Pool
The staking will be discontinued on October 25 as Sandbox shifts focus to SAND-only pools.
The SAND/MATIC LP is 11 Months old but has Recorded Huge Success
The Sandbox has announced it will discontinue the SAND/MATIC staking pool, and users must complete all activities before October 25, when it will shut down.
Although Sandbox didn’t offer any concrete reasons for the discontinuation, the metaverse platform believes the development will kickstart a new frontier in SAND staking. The SAND/MATIC staking pool was launched in late 2021 and has been active for only 11 months but has enjoyed relative achievements. The program was able to distribute more than 12.5 million SAND tokens to stakers, a great milestone for the platform.
However, the program is soon ending, and users must claim and withdraw their tokens from the pools. Therefore, it is not possible to deposit the LP. It is unclear why Sandbox is ending the program, but the platform may want to focus on other rewarding staking programs. The SAND/MATIC pool has recorded huge success, but it is believed that the team wants to focus on other aspects.
The Sandbox Launches SAND-only Program as Alpha Season 3 draws to an end
SAND-only staking programs will take center as Sandbox launches another staking pool for LAND owners and offers robust rewards.
This program was launched a month ago and offers LAND owners on Sandbox to stake 500 SAND tokens per plot. For instance, players could stake as much as 5000 tokens if they own 10 LAND plots. Stakers could enjoy about 140%, one of the highest in crypto. Players can buy LAND from secondary marketplaces like OpenSea, Raresea, etc.
This development is coming as Sandbox Alpha Season 3 ends in a few days. The event featured more than 90 experiences and quests, and 1.5 million SAND tokens were shared in a season with 200,000 active monthly players.
