The Sandbox Partners With Sandsoft To Expand in the Middle East
Through this partnership with Sandsoft, The Sandbox is expanding into Saudi Arabia and the Middle East with the goal of forming a team of Web3 gaming experts while working with local brands and celebrities to create new gamified social experiences in the voxel-based metaverse.
The Sandbox has announced a new partnership with Sandsoft, a video game developer and publisher, with the goal of expanding in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East by helping form blockchain gaming experts in the region.
Through this partnership, The Sandbox looks to expand into Saudi Arabia and the Middle East with Sandsoft being the key partner to successfully achieving the goal of gathering new local talent in order to create a team of Web3 gaming experts. Through this team, the aim is to make partnerships with local public and private industry actors alongside “entertainment, IPs & Brands and celebrities” in an effort to create new gamified social experiences in the voxel-based metaverse.
The COO and co-founder of The Sandbox, Sebastien Borget, said the following in the official announcement:

Alongside developing engaging experiences with brands and celebrities, the goal is to also create a new virtual cultural neighborhood, while educating local talented developers and artists and onboarding them to the metaverse.

Sandsoft is a gaming company founded in 2020 with headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Featuring a team of over 60 people across the globe, they develop, publish, and invest in various games and studios internationally, with the goal of becoming the leading company for mobile gaming. Their internship program called ‘Press Start’ is focused on helping talented young developers in Saudi Arabia improve their skills with supervision from VP Studio Yahsir Qureshi (who was previously at EA and Zynga), and CTO Ahmed Sharif (formerly at Meta, Sony, and EA).
