The Sandbox Teases Alpha Season 3: What to Expect from the Game
Last week, The Sandbox dropped a teaser showing what's about to come in the Alpha Season 3. Let's take a look!
The Sandbox Alpha Season 3 is coming in July
Last week, The Sandbox (TSB) finally released a teaser for the upcoming Alpha Season 3 in July. In the 22-second video, new NFT avatars such as Ubisoft's Rabbids and WuKong are seen making their appearance. Together with other TSB avatars, the trailer ends by teasing what seems to be a Season 3 Alpha Pass as shown below.
To those who don't know, The Sandbox Alpha Season is a multi-week Play-to-Earn event in which players can explore The Sandbox metaverse and earn prizes in SAND. How it works is that gamers will usually need to finish a certain amount of quests in order to earn raffle tickets. Then when the season ends, a raffle will determine which lucky players will win the Season's Alpha Pass to unlock their SAND rewards.
Given that, there's so much to look forward to in The Sandbox's upcoming Alpha Season 3. Will it be bigger, better, longer, and open to all players for free? How many S3 Alpha Pass will be available and what will be the prize amount then? Back in Season 2, if you won an S2 Alpha Pass, you would have claimed 1,000 SAND (worth about $3.4k) at that time!
Admittedly, details are scarce at the moment. Some fans are speculating that the new season might begin on July 15th. But some think that it will happen later on July 20th or 21st, after the last MoCDA social contest ends.
Anyway, The Sandbox co-founder, Sébastien Borget said in early May that the team is considering KYC rules for prize claiming as well. Since there were cases of players using Cheat Engine in The Sandbox, this might warrant the need for KYC submission during Alpha Season 3. Nonetheless, with no confirmation in sight, all we can do is keep guessing.
