Wharton is offering an online metaverse crash course for all

Last week, the Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania announced its latest online program called “Business in the Metaverse Economy”.

Designed for working professionals in the tech and financial sectors, the 6-week Wharton certificate program will cover all things metaverse. In fact, students can explore 6 industry case studies and access more than 50 program lecture videos throughout the course.

In partnership with leading consulting firm Prysm Group, 6 Wharton faculty will conduct the program along with industry experts from Animoca Brands, Unity, and more. Given that, Yat Siu, Scott Belsky, Timoni West, and Carolina Arguelles Navas are some of the guest speakers on the list.

“We designed this program for business professionals and executives from a range of backgrounds, including finance, management, and tech," said Professor Kevin Werbach, the program’s academic director at Wharton School.

“The metaverse is a significant and broad phenomenon that is still poorly understood. We hope to equip business leaders, consultants, and entrepreneurs with an understanding of the impending opportunities the metaverse brings, as well as the practical knowledge to build solutions of value.”

Keep in mind though that the crash course doesn't come cheap. In total, it will cost $4,500 in tuition fees just to complete the 6-week program. At the end of it, graduates will earn a certificate of completion and six Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from Wharton.

Just so you know, the next slot for the Wharton metaverse program will begin on September 12th this year. Those who are interested can secure their spots through online registration.

With an ever-growing interest in the metaverse, educational institutions are starting to offer Web3 study programs at different scales. Early this month, Digital Hollywood in Tokyo joined forces with The Sandbox to develop a Web3 course for Japanese creators.
