XPLA Reveals Tokenomics Features of The Walking Dead: All-Stars
The Walking Dead: All-Stars includes the following tokenomics features: ad-revenue sharing system, buyback & reward, and 3 core currencies that are needed for obtaining in-game tokens that can be converted to $XPLA.
The team behind XPLA, a Tendermint-based Layer 1 blockchain, has officially revealed the tokenomics features of The Walking Dead: All-Stars, a mobile idle RPG available on Android and iOS devices.
What Are the Core Tokenomics Features?
In an official dedicated post for tokenomics, the developers have listed these core features forming the model: ad-revenue sharing system, buyback & reward, and core currencies.
Ad-Revenue Sharing System
The tokenomics structure involves the incorporation of an ad-revenue sharing system that makes it possible to bring back a share of the revenue gained from ads back to the players. This means that both a percentage of revenue from ads and in-game purchases are sent to the Convert Pool, which is what makes it possible for players to exchange Unknown Coins to $XPLA, and vice-versa. According to the announcement, the advertising rates will vary from one country to another.
Buyback & Reward
As suggested by the info on the system above, the $XPLA tokens awarded to players comes from the ad revenue. In order to try and maintain stability, up to 85% of the ad revenue will be designated for buying back the tokens from the market, making it so that the team will “consistently purchase $XPLA,” encouraging a “virtuous tokenomics cycle that rewards gamers for their time and dedication to the game.”
Core Currencies
The mobile blockchain title consists of 3 core currencies that you need in order to get Unknown Coins: Key Point, Key, and Safe.
Key Points are gained from watching ads as well as from buying certain in-game items, while Keys are crafted using Key Points. Keys come in Normal, Premium, and Deluxe types, and you’ll be needing them for unlocking Safes, which also come in 3 types: Normal, Premium, and Best. Safes contain various items, potentially including in-game Survival items, higher-grade keys, Unknown Coins, and more. Unknown Coins are in-game tokens which can be converted to $XPLA, but they can also be used for purchasing special items from the shop.
