Yuga Labs' Plans
Industry-defining Web3 company, Yuga Labs, has revealed its grand plans for the coming years. Yuga Labs is looking to lead a trailblazing path through Web3 to expose its services to the world. During Lisbon's annual technology conference(Web summit), the CEO of Yuga Labs announced the organization's strategic goal of boosting its Web 3 efforts.
Nicole Muniz, CEO of Yuga Labs, said,
"If you want to build some of the craziest things on the internet wrapped up in creativity, storytelling, board mythology and fun, then you should come and work at Yuga, because we are trying to hire the best and brightest to build the next phase of the internet. Web 1 was fun and silly but then we all got so serious in Web 2. So we want to bring the fun back to the internet. And that's a big part of the spirit and DNA of our culture."
She also addressed the importance of the security and safety of digital assets, IP rights potential, and the origins of Bored Ape Yacht Club(BAYC). Muniz also touched on the distinction between an NFT and a typical JPEG. She said:" The NFT conveys the rights and the fact that you have true ownership of that asset."
Yuga Labs' collections BAYC, CryptoPunks, and Meebits are prime examples of creators granting full commercial, intellectual property licenses to holders. She added, "That exclusive ownership is something that is really coming into the space and empowers consumers to actually shift into owners. And that's a paradigm shift overall."
The Otherside Development Kit
Yuga Labs also revealed their plans for their metaverse platform, The Otherside. The team is developing an Otherside Development Kit. This is to enable builders to construct features and capabilities for the Otherside. In addition, this move is focused on transporting those functionalities into other metaverses within the space.
