ZepetoX metaverse from Naver will run on Solana
The first land sale for this 3D metaverse is set to launch in the following months.
The team behind ZepetoX (ZTX) has announced that they plan to build their crypto metaverse on the Solana network.
This metaverse initiative is incubated by Asia’s largest metaverse platform, ZEPETO, together with global blockchain organizations, among which are Jump Crypto. The former is owned by Naver Z, a subsidiary of Naver Corporation, which is a South Korean internet conglomerate.
The CEO of Naver Z, Daewook Kim, whose company launched a $100m metaverse creator fund back in January this year, said the following in a press release:
“ZepetoX is our official venture into the blockchain industry. We feel that web3 opportunities should be advanced through a crypto-native approach, which is why we are excited to have Jump as a contributor to developing a new platform that would have exclusive connections to ZEPETO. Overall, we believe that ZepetoX can build the ideal web3 platform to not only bring blockchain to our existing users but also to expand our footprint in the blockchain space through various disruptive initiatives.”
ZepetoX will be a web3-based 3D metaverse featuring lands and personalizable avatars as well as digital assets in the form of tradable NFTs that can be placed on land plots. It’ll have its own marketplace for users to trade lands in. The first land sale for this gamified open-world is set to kick off in the following months, with more info to be available on the official website in the coming weeks, according to the press release. Users can currently sign up for “early access” on their website by inputting their email address, and optionally a Twitter handle.
Saurabh Sharma, a Partner at Jump Crypto, commented:
“We are excited to support ZepetoX’s efforts aimed at onboarding new audiences into the rapidly growing crypto space. ZEPETO’s expertise and technological know-hows accumulated over the past years from building an immersive social platform will serve as a springboard for ZepetoX.”
The ZEPETO metaverse platform has more than 320 million lifetime users, while over 2.5 billion digital fashion items have been sold on the Asia-based platform. Its subsidiary, ZepetoX, a Web3 company, was founded this year.
